TRC at the RTTC 25 Mile National Championships – Men
This year the men’s national 25 was hosted by East District Cycling Association. And held on the B25/8 near Snetterton, Norfolk.
The course itself could be described as a dual carriageway dragstrip style course, with a 13 mile outward leg and a 12 mile return. A gently rolling course but no hills of any significance and a single roundabout to contend mid way on both legs.
The weather conditions were windy! A strong tail wind on the outward leg saw most riders easily doing speeds of 30+ for the first 13miles. But meant a block head wind on the returning leg.
Traffic on the course was not particularly busy, so didn’t give much assistance.
Thanet Road Club was showing good numbers at this event with 4 riders taking to the start line; Simon Henderson, Seb Dickson, Chris Fennell and Nic Fennell getting a ride from the reserves.
Chris had an excellent ride, which he enjoyed with a new personal best and club record of 48.29 good enough for 6th overall!
Simon also had a good ride clocking a time of 53.59.
Nic gained a new personal best with 55.08, very pleased with his time.
Seb unfortunately had a fall late in the race, but luckily no serious injuries. And still finished with a 1:01.02. Wishing him a quick recovery.

Chris Fennell – 48.29 (PB) – 6th
