After being away on the Thanet Way for a few weeks, the club returned to Fowlmead for another batch of Wednesday evening time trials. There was a relatively small field of 42 riders, no doubt a number were put off by the chance of wet weather. However, apart from the usual Fowlmead wind, the event was held in sunny conditions.
Thirteen junior riders took part and fastest was Calum Anderton (Kingsnorth International), with 22.41, which was also the third fastest time of the evening. Ollie Robinson was fastest Thanet RC junior with a time of 24.40.
There were 29 senior riders signed on and second claim member Chris Fennell was first with 21.25, beating the club’s Simon Henderson (22.21) into second place.
As usual, thanks go out to the band of volunteers who made the event happen; Gary and Martin Russell, Paul Kelk, Paul Griffiths, Tony Arnold, Teresa Childs, Andy McCall and Dave Mastin.
