The first evening “10” to be held on the Thanet Way course attracted a large field of 30 riders, thanks to a sunny evening. The wind was a breezy north easterly, which is said to be useful as it is a tailwind for the longer return leg, which includes the climb up from the marshes. Times were generally good with PB’s for several riders, including Bill Hawkes and Rob Milnes. I believe that Dave Danton and Nick Scott may have also gained PB’s as well?
Fastest ride of the evening was by Chris Fennell (Catford Banks) with an excellent time of 20.34, and second was Bill Hawkes who knocked 14 seconds of his PB to end up with 21.40.
Many thanks go out to the band of helpers who marshalled, pushed off and held the watches; Teresa Childs, Steve Wright, Andy McCall, Lawrence Martin, Malcolm Adams, Terry Fearn, Rick Perkins and Dave Mastin.
Times are to be found in the attached file.
Report by Dave Mastin.
