After last week’s heatwave, normal Fowlmead weather returned for this week’s evening 10, ie it was cold, grey and windy. In spite of the weather, we still had a respectable field of 55 riders, 12 juniors and 43 seniors.

As expected, the times reflected the conditions and many riders were around a minute or more slower than their times from last week. Topping the junior times was Ollie Robinson once again with a very good time of 22.42, which was also the second fastest time of the evening. Dan Martin was in second place with 23.12. The fastest senior rider was our own TT secretary, Simon Henderson with 22.19, well ahead of Tim Kingston (Deal Tri) in second place with 23.07.

As usual, thanks go out to our band of helpers; this week it was Teresa Childs, Tony Arnold, Brian Hood, Gary Russell, Andy McCall, Terry Fearn and Dave Mastin.

Note: Next week’s event is a 25 mile time trial at Fowlmead with a prompt start at 6:15pm. Signing on closes at 6:00pm, so please ensure you arrive in time if you wish to ride. Any offers of help will be appreciated too.
