After the cancellation of last week’s evening 10 due to the poor weather conditions, this week’s event went ahead, in somewhat better conditions, but still disappointing for this time of year. It was overcast, with a cold north easterly wind and a hint of rain too. A total of 25 riders took part, including Freya Cook riding her first Thanet Way 10. Only 24 riders finished, with Colin Inett picking up a puncture near the old Roman Galley on his way back from the turn. Riding his first Thanet Way 10 was James Donaldson, (Adalta CC), familiar to several riders as the person dishing out pain at the winter Wattbikes sessions. Although he finished, James appears to have gone off course at St Nicholas!

Fastest ride overall was by Ollie Robinson, who was also quickest of the juniors with 21.35. In second place was our fastest senior rider, Nic Fennell in 21.55. All times can be found in the PDF file.

Many thanks to our band of volunteers who ensured the event took place. This week, they were John Beggs, Matt Hall, Malcolm Adams, Pete Huckstep, Sue Shields, Martin Hendy, George Pittock, Andy McCall and Dave Mastin.

Report by Dave Mastin.
