This week, we took a break from the regular 10 mile events to hold what is listed as the 4-up team time trial. However, we had a variety of solos, pairs, trios and teams of 4 taking part. Some riders elected to ride just 5 laps, while others chose the longer distance of 7 laps.
In total, 30 riders took part, 10 junior riders and 20 seniors. Conditions were not too bad, being quite warm, but there was a stiff headwind when riding down the main straight. I think all those that took part enjoyed the evening. It was pleasing to see our junior members riding well in formation in their teams, which was probably the first time that most of them had ridden this type of event.
The times and distances of all riders can be found in the attached file.
This week we thank Simon Henderson for running the event allowing myself and Andy McCall to have a break from timekeeping and have a ride. Simon was assisted by Terry Fearn, Malcolm Adams and Chris Bax.
Next week, 14th July, we resume evening 10’s, but we are holding a three up time trial at Betteshanger on 18th August.
