There was a good turn out of Thanet RC riders in the KCA 25, organised by Malcolm Strickland, on the popular Q25/8 course at Chilham. Conditions were cool and fairly bright, with a southerly crosswind. It was a day of mixed fortunes for club riders, with some PB’s, prize winners, but a spill and a puncture as well.
The unfortunate riders were Michael Friend, who came off at the junction at Chilham Fork on the outward leg to Ashford , but remounted and finished with a bloodied leg. Andy Burrows had a puncture, also at Chilham, but sadly Andy’s puncture was on the way back at around the 24 mile mark and so was a DNF!
Prize winners were Chris Fennell, who was a clear winner with 53.23, and Simon Henderson who was the fastest veteran on age standard. I am pretty certain that the club picked up the team award, with Chris, Simon and Dan Martin, although this hadn’t been confirmed when I left the HQ.
