The latest evening 10 mile time trial at Betteshanger CP was a mixture of solos, 2-ups and 3-ups. The weather was warm but there was a stiff north easterly breeze which added a few seconds to most riders times, compared to recent weeks.
There was just the one 3-up team of Mat Lister, Rob Nicholas and Steve Wilkinson who recorded a time of 21.45, quicker than their similar ride back in July.
Also, there was just one 2-up team, the pairing of Ollie Robinson and his partner, Marga Lopez. Their time was 21.55, a very good effort as they were on road bikes and Marga had raced the previous evening in Belgium before travelling to the UK earlier in the day.
Six solo junior riders took part, including William Tulett in his recumbent, who got round in 24.35. Brother Dougie Tulett was quickest boy on a regular TT bike in 24.40, while fastest girl was Ferne Peirce with a time of 25.59.
Fourteen senior solo riders rode, and it was no surprise that Chris Fennell of the Independent Pedaler topped the times with 19.13. Second place and first Thanet RC rider was Bill Hawkes with 21.12, which may well be a course PB for Bill. Fastest woman rider was Breda Pooke in a time of 28.41.
Times for all riders are in the attached files.
As always, thanks go to our band of helpers; this week they were Andy & Deborah McCall, Michael Friend, Trevoer Peirce, Colin Robinson and Dave Mastin.
