After weeks of unseasonal weather, it is nice to report the arrival of summer at Betteshanger CP. Although it was warmer than in previous weeks, there was still a breeze from the north east which kept the temperatures in check.
This week’s field of 18 riders consisted of 3 juniors, 13 seniors and a 2-up team. With the improvement in conditions came a number better times for many riders, including a couple of PBs for two of the juniors. First junior with a PB time of 28.20 was Seb Mugford of VC Deal. Second place and first girl was Nina Reid in a time of 29.35, while Lawson Bax was first Thanet RC boy, also with a PB in 30.44.
Once again, fastest senior rider was Lance Childs (TAAP Endura) with a fine 20.21. Simon Henderson was second and first Thanet RC rider in a time of 22.42. while Faye Faiers was top of the times for the women riders with 26.39. Taking part in his first “10” as a new Thanet RC member was Chris Meakin, while Fiona Howarth returned for her first “10” of the season.
Finally, the 2-up pairing of Richard McVey and Ola Zdzieblowska rode well together and were pleased with their time of 26.37.
