After a number of weeks of windy weather, this week’s evening 10 mile time trial at Betteshanger was held in much better conditions. The improved weather also produced some better times, including several PBs. We also had a larger field than in recent weeks, with 16 seniors, 6 juniors and a 2-up team taking to the track.
Three of our six junior riders finished with PB’s, and in the case of our fastest junior, Dougie Tulett, a club age record too for a 14 year old at 10 miles. Dougie’s time was a fine 23.28. The others riders to get a PB were Seb Mugford of VC Deal (26.31) and Lawson Bax (29.03). Fastest girl rider was Nina Reid with 29.17.
Sam Hodge was our top senior rider and he recorded an impressive time of 20.01, getting the win over last week’s winner, TAAP Endura’s Lance Childs. Once again, Faye Faiers was the quickest woman with a time of 26.39.
The times of all our riders are in the accompanying table.
As always, thanks go to the group of helpers. This week, they were Caroline Rigby, Terry Fearn, Paul Griffiths, Malcolm Adams, Michael Friend, Andy McCall and Dave Mastin.
