The penultimate evening 10 mile time trial of the season at Betteshanger was held in fine conditions, which was somewhat surprising as just a few hours earlier, the wind was very strong. We had a total of 412 riders sign on to enjoy some warmth and light winds. Although we had reached our limit of 50 riders, there were a number of late withdrawals on the day. The conditions helped a number of riders to produce some good times and a few PB’s as well.
This week, we started riders off at 30 second intervals, which made it more of a challenge for the time keepers regarding both the starting of riders and the subsequent calculations of the finishing times. Hopefully, the times posted in the PDFs below are correct.
A healthy field of 13 junior riders took to the track and this week top spot went to Samuel Hodge, who recorded a good time of 23.36. Fourth place went to Ferne Peirce, our fastest girl with a time of 29.01.
Fastest senior was Nic Fennell who just got under 20 minutes with a fine 19.56. The fastest woman rider was Susan Wallbrook, whose time was 25.51.
Thanks to this week’s helpers, Terry Fearn, Mike Kirkness, Pete Huckstep, Andy McCall and Dave Mastin.
Next week is the final evening "10" of this rather strange season. It will be interesting to see what 2021 brings.
