After some decent weather the previous week, it was a return to more familiar Betteshanger conditions, that is cool and very windy. The north easterly breeze affected the times, with most riders slower than last week. In spite of the conditions there was a good field of 45 riders taking part, including 12 juniors.
This week’s top junior was Tom Lowther with a fine time of 23.08, while second place went to the fastest girl which was Catherine Morrell. Catherine’s time was 26.15. Taking part in his first ever time trial was Charlie Jackson, who recorded 28.01, which was good enough for 4th place.
Once again, 2nd claim member Dan Martin (University of Bath CC) was fastest senior with 20.08, actually a few second better than his time from the previous week. Nic Fennell was second, and best of the Thanet RC riders in a time of 20.38. Charmaine Pullen (Folkestone VC) was the best woman in 25.06, while Faye Faiers was the first of the Thanet RC women in a time of 27.15. Finally, Jim and Olly Dickson rode as a 2-up, taking 25.46 to complete the course.
Times of all riders are in the attached files below.
Helpers this week were George Chittenden, Pete Elms, Andrew Morrell, Richard McVey, Michael Friend, Chris Bax, Andy McCall and Dave Mastin.
