We had some reasonable weather for the penultimate evening 10 mile time trial of the season. The strong winds of earlier in the day dropped off to leave a light breeze but cool temperatures. These favourable conditions led to 3 of our junior riders going home with PB’s. The field consisted of 5 juniors, 13 seniors and a couple of 2-up teams taking part.
Regarding the junior riders, Dougie Tulett was first and managed to get under 24 minutes with a fine time of 23.57, which may be a course PB. Fastest girl was Nina Reid who came third with a PB time of 27.50. Also getting PB’s were Harrison King with 28.21, and also Alice Tulett who improved her “10” time to 32.15. Well done to all!
The fastest senior rider was Myles Davidson from Bigfoot CC with an excellent time of 21.09, which was also a PB. Fastest first claim rider was Simon Henderson with 23.21. This week, the honour of top solo Thanet RC woman went to the ever-present Jenny Fearn who recorded a time of 32.56, beating husband Terry, who was having a rare outing on two wheels.
The 2-up pairing of Faye Faiers and Pete Huckstep recorded the best time of the two up teams with 25.21, pushing the regular pairing of Ola Zdzieblowska and Richard McVey (26.41) into second place.
The table contains the times of all riders.
This week, our band of helpers was Paul Griffiths, Malcolm Adams, Michael Friend, Andy McCall and Dave Mastin.
