The weather was much improved for this week’s evening time trial at Betteshanger CP. It was warm but with a steady breeze from the east.. The better conditions resulted in better times after the struggles of the previous week.
We had a field of 9 juniors and 25 seniors take to the start line, but two senior riders failed to finish due to bike issues.
Toby Clayson of VC Deal was the quickest junior with 26.24, while Ferne Peirce was both fastest girl and fastest Thanet RC first claim member. Ferne was second in a time of 27.24. Dougie Tulett came in third and was fastest Thanet RC boy with 28.10. I believe that William Tulett may have improved his PB with 29.32?
Lewis Tompsett recorded a fine time of 20.17 for top spot, some way ahead of 2nd place rider, Neil Gerrard (22.03). Faye Faiers took the position of quickest woman with 26.41.
All times can be seen in the PDF files.
Thanks to our helpers; Terry Fearn, Malcolm Adams, Steve Wright, Paul Griffiths, Andy McCall and Dave Mastin.
Safety Note: When re-joining the main circuit after having finished your ride, please be aware of riders that are still racing.
