The final evening 10 mile time trial of the 2023 season at Betteshanger CP was held and good conditions, with warm temperatures and just a light breeze. Times for most riders were fairly similar to those of last week, with some riders a little slower, while others improved. In total, we had a field of 6 juniors, 15 seniors and a 2-up pair.
Continuing on from his good ride in the national “10” championship a few days earlier, Dougie Tulett topped the times of the junior riders with 23.43. In fourth place, and fastest girl was Nina Reid with a time of 28.12.
Both of these riders are taking part in the GHS final this coming weekend, and the club wishes them both a fast and safe ride.
After a few week’s absence, Lance Childs of TAAP Endura returned to the track and clocked a very good time of 20.18 to take first place. In second place with a time of 21.58 was the fastest first claim club member, Neil Gerrard. Breda Pooke was the quickest woman rider in a time 28.26. Finally, the 2-up pair of Faye Faiers and Pete Huckstep improved on last week’s time by just 2 seconds to record 25.19.
Times of all riders can be found in the table.
Many thanks as always to the band of helpers; Terry Fearn, Caroline Rigby, Michael Friend, Malcolm Adams, Paul Griffiths, Andy McCall and Dave Mastin.
