After some rather unseasonal weather in recent weeks, it was good to see plenty of sun at Betteshanger for the latest evening 10 mile time trial. However, it was still rather breezy, and several riders reported that it was not quite the good evening that it appeared to be. Hence, the times were OK, but not as good as many had hoped for.
There was a good turnout however, no doubt the weather helped in this respect. The event attracted a field of 24 riders, consisting of 17 seniors, 5 juniors and a 2-up team.
Top of the times for the juniors was Dougie Tulett with a time of 24.34, while Nina Reid’s time of 29.33 was good enough for fastest girl. Neil Gerrard was fastest senior rider in a time of 22.01. Once again, Faye Faiers topped the times for the women riders with 26.46. The 2-up pair of Ola Zdzieblowska and Richard McVey finished in a time of 26.46.
The times of all riders are to be found in the table.
This week’s team of helpers were Terry Fearn, Malcolm Adams, Michael Friend, David Tulett and Dave Mastin.
