After last week’s rather pleasant conditions, it was back to the more familiar weather we have come to expect at Betteshanger CP.  That is, cool with a stiff breeze, which affected the times of most of the field.  Despite the less favourable conditions, a total of 20 riders signed on to test themselves against the strong wind from the west.

Just 2 junior riders took part this week, with Dougie Tulett first in a time of 22.51.  The other junior was Alice Tulett who recorded a time of 30.21.

The senior field consisted of 16 riders, including a first appearance at Betteshanger this year for Paul Burrows on a road bike.  Paul had a problem where he unshipped his chain, and he missed out on second place by just a couple of seconds with 22.28.  Second place went to Neil Gerrard in 22.26, while fastest rider of the evening was Mat Lister with 22.11.  In sixth place was the first female rider, which was Faye Faiers in a time of 26.34.

Finally, we had a husband and wife 2-up team of Fiona and Paul Flaherty who completed the course in 27.30

Times of all riders can be found in the accompanying table.

As always, we must thank our band of helpers who ensure that the event can take place.  This week, they were Andy McCall, Terry Fearn, Malcolm Adams and Dave Mastin.

A quick reminder that the next event on 28th August is the Pip McVey Memorial 2-up TTT.
