Another Wednesday evening 10 mile time trial at Betteshanger CP, and once again, another cold and windy evening. We seem to have been unlucky with April weather this year, as quite often in previous years, at least one of the April evenings has produced some decent conditions. It’s May next week, so let’s hope for an improvement.
A field of 13 riders took to the start line, 2 juniors and 11 seniors. Riders making their first appearance at an evening “10” this year were Abigail Hoss, Neil Gerrard and Brian Hood.
In a repeat of last week’s rides, the fastest junior was Dougie Tulett with another sub 24 minute ride, recording 23.37. And the other junior was Alice Tulett with another good ride, finishing with 31.38. Both riders improved on last week’s times by a handful of seconds.
As expected, second claim member Lance Childs topped the times of the senior riders. Lance’s time was a fine 21.05. Second place went to the first Thanet RC rider, Neil Gerrard with 22.21. Faye Faiers headed the times of the women riders with a time of 28.01.
Times of all riders can be found in the accompanying table.
As always, we must thank our band of helpers who ensure that the event can take place. This week, they were, David Tulett, Teresa Childs, Michael Friend, Terry Fearn and Dave Mastin.
