Dear Members – Please find below details regarding KCA marshalling duties for this year.
Please contact Michael Friend at michael.friend
Note below is from KCA.
As usual, I am writing to all affiliated clubs to notify them of their marshalling duties for this season, based on the number of rides each club had in our events in 2016. The present KCA rule covers MARSHALLING ONLY, not tea-bars etc, and helps to make our few hard-working promoters’ lives easier. As you may know, the CTT makes it mandatory that certain points on any course are marshalled to allow the event to take place, and our rule ensures that we have the necessary names well in advance of each event. There were problems last year and as a consequence, we had to cancel our 12 Hour due to some clubs not fulfilling the duties. We have the 12 Hour back this year, and we hope that all clubs make every effort to cover their duties to avoid any possible restriction on their entries to KCA events. I show below the number of marshals your club is asked to provide plus a list of our events and the number of marshals each one needs. Please choose any event (s) you can help with marshalling and I will do my best to allocate them to you but it depends on how quickly you get back to me. I realise that people may find it difficult to book dates this early in the year, so I can leave you until later in the season, but I have to warn you that the shorter distances go first, leaving only the 100 and 12 Hour, although these events have a maximum of roughly 4 hour marshalling rotas, depending on the actual point on the course, so nobody has to work for the duration of the event.
We also remind volunteers that if they make a date then find they are unable to honour it on the day, they will be expected to find a replacement for us. Please make this clear to your members.
Please note that we give a personal allowance to all our promoters plus a generous sum to allow them to reimburse themselves and their helpers in appreciation of their services, in addition to giving promoters 2 free tickets to our Annual Lunch.
THANET RC QUOTA FOR 2017 IS 24 MARSHALS, BUT AS ANDY McCALL IS KINDLY ORGANISING THE KCA 25 ON 10 SEPTEMBER, AND AS THIS WILL NEED 9 MARSHALS, I WILL NEED ANOTHER 15 MARSHALS FROM THANET RC.
LIST OF 2017 MARSHALS NEEDED FOR EACH EVENT – SOME EVENTS ARE NOT SHOWN AS THEY WILL BE MARSHALLED BY THE PROMOTING CLUB.
