Post from Simon Charles and Dave Mastin
The club has gratefully received a defibrillator and first aid kit from Siemens Gamesa. For those of you wondering who they are, Siemens Gamesa are the company who maintain the London Array windfarm in the Thames Estuary. They operate from a base in Ramsgate Harbour. The donation of this most useful equipment was the result of an initiative by Siemens Gamesa past employee and club member, Simon Charles. Simon reported at a club committee meeting earlier this year that Siemens Gamesa are keen to engage with the local community and that there was the potential opportunity to obtain this equipment from them. In conjunction with club secretary, Simon Henderson, a successful bid was put forward, resulting in the donation of the defibrillator and first aid kit.
The photo shows club president Andy McCall receiving the equipment from Dave Moffatt of Siemens Gamesa at the recent evening time trial at Betteshanger. Dave Moffat is a former club member.
