This week’s evening 10 mile time trial at Betteshanger CP, was the first for a while without our stalwarts Dave Mastin and Andy McCall who are enjoying a well-deserved holiday.
The event ran in some reasonably warm weather with a stiff SW breeze that some said started to abate as the event progressed. This followed heavy rain around 4pm, the track conditions giving all the riders some cleaning to do on their bikes.
We only had a small field of 16 riders, including 5 juniors, with some late withdrawals on the day.
Once again, fastest junior was William Tulett riding a faired recumbent for the second time, although not a quick as during the better weather last week, he did a 25:10.
Brother Dougie came in fastest on his TT bike with a 26:33.
Fastest girl was Ferne Pierce, on her road bike with a 28:00.
TRC senior Neil Gerrard was fastest rider overall with a 22:40, just 3 seconds ahead of Mat Lister from FVC.
Thanks to this week’s helpers; Terry Fearn, Malcolm Adams, Michael Friend & Simon Henderson
