Once again, it looked as if the weather would seriously affect the Wednesday evening time trial at Betteshanger CP. Although the forecast looked rather poor, and there was a light shower just before the start, the event went ahead. The winds were light and the atmosphere a bit humid, and the track was damp from the earlier rain.
25 riders signed on, which included 6 junior riders. The conditions were reasonable, as 4 of the juniors recorded PB’s. Well done Harriet and Tallulah Butcher, Ferne Pierce and Toby Clayson. Charlie Dickson was fastest boy with 25.47, just 3 seconds ahead of the fastest girl, Catherine Morrell.
As expected, Dan Martin of the University of Bath CC topped the times for senior riders with a fine 20.21, with Shawn Manning coming second and fastest Thanet RC rider in a time of 22.20. Faye Faiers was the fastest woman with 28.38. Paul Griffiths had a puncture early into his ride and was a DNF. Colin Inett also had one, but was able to coast over the line to record 29.20.
The times of all riders are to be found in the attached PDF files.
Thanks as always to the helps; this week they were Sue Shields, Malcolm Adams, Andrew Morrell, Terry Fearn, Andy McCall and Dave Mastin.
