The latest evening 10 mile time trial at Betteshanger CP was held in hot and humid conditions. In spite of the weather, we had a relatively small field of 29 riders taking part. A number of regular riders were away, now that the holiday season is underway. The field consisted of 6 juniors, 21 seniors, and a tandem pair. The general consensus was that it was not a good evening for good times.
Lance Childs, former club member and now a VC Londres rider, was top of the junior times with a fine 22.51, while in second place was top girl, Catherine Morrell, in a time of 25.40. Alex Dack came 3rd and was the fastest Thanet RC boy with 27.16.
The top spot in the senior part of the field went to Nic Fennell with 20.31, exactly 3 minutes ahead of Olly Dickson, who was 2nd with 23.31. Faye Faiers was the fastest woman in a time of 25.50.
Finally, the tandem pair of Andy McCall and Sue shields recorded 28.40, some way off their best time, due to a rubbing brake.
Please see attached files for all riders times.
Thanks to this week band of helpers; Terry Fearn, Josie Harcourt, Rob Milnes, George Chittenden, Shawn Manning and Simon Henderson.
Please note that the event for 31st July is now a 2-up 10 mile team time trial and not a 25 mile solo event, as previously listed.
