The second evening “25” of the season was held in some rather changeable conditions. When the riders set off, it was warm, sunny with a light easterly breeze. By the time they finished on the Betteshanger track, it was much cooler and very misty.

There was a good turnout of 36 riders, which also included 3 junior riders.

The fastest of the juniors was Catherine Morrell with 1.06.33, which is another age record for girls up to 18 for Catherine. Jack Hill was the quickest boy with 1.10.14, while George Bussey had an issue with his bike and didn’t finish.

Regarding the senior riders, first place went to Chris Fennell (second claim) riding for The Independent Pedlar with an impressive time of 49.50. In second place was another second claim member, Dan Martin of the University of Bath CC, in a time of 51.05. This was just 9 seconds ahead of the first TRC rider, Nic Fennell, with a new PB with 51.14. New club member, Kim Wood, was the quickest woman with 1.06.40.
