A handful of club members made the trip down to Brenzett on Romney Marsh for the VTTA Kent Group 25 mile time trial. This was run by Aaron of The Independent Pedaler and his team of helpers, with guidance from Bob Giles.
It looked as if the conditions were favourable for some good times, with light winds and sunny skies. However, it seemed a bit “dead” to me, and a number of riders back at the HQ commented that it was a hard day. It was difficult to determine if there was any wind assistance anywhere on the course.
The club had some success and also a DNF, when Adrian Hawkins punctured before he reached the first roundabout. Nic Fennell was the fastest rider overall with a fine 50.51. Simon Henderson and Scott Meeks claimed the second place team prize on age standard. Paul Kirkness used his form from last week’s 12 hour ride to record his comeback PB.
Club times in starting order:-
Scott Meeks: 59.17,
