2 Day Youth National in Kent
A high class field of youth A and B cyclists took part in this weekend’s circuit races.
The first day was 2 stages at the Cyclopark. Stage 1 a sprint race followed by a full race.
In the youth A girls, over 50 riders started and I managed to stay with the front group for the duration. The 2nd stage an hour race, I kept up for the main part, but the constant attacks got the better of me and I came off the lead group, losing a minute.
Day 2, stage 3 took part at Lydden Hill. A very different course to the previous day!
After 20 times up the hill and around 2:30minutes a lap, took its toll on me. I lost a few minutes but was really pleased with my performance over the weekend.
A big well done to 2nd claim Ilana Lord who also had the best riders in the country in her class and exceeded the number of laps she wanted to do around Lydden.
A big thank you to Ian Lloyd and Huw Williams for organising this fantastic event in Kent, my parents were pleased to have a half hour drive, rather than the usual three hours plus!
